BS 4142 Character Corrections – Achieving Consensus
Matt Torjussen, Acoustics Lead @ ANV Measurement Systems
Thursday 16th November 2023 13:00-14:30
There have been numerous objective vs. subjective studies evaluating the different ratings that environmental noise practitioners give to industrial sound sources for their tone audibility and impulse prominence. This repeatedly demonstrates a wide range of subjective responses and a need to understand the objective methods to apply them correctly.
In this talk, Matt will outline the subjective and objective methods from BS 4142, identify their strengths and weaknesses, review the research carried out on acoustic features since 2014, and conduct a live subjective test with attendees.
This event is open to AACI Members, Associates of the AACI, Affiliates of the AACI and Academic Affiliates. There are a limited number of spaces available to those interested in the AACI and getting involved.
